
Softball Grizzilies Hit 3 More Home Runs

The Lady Grizzlies hosted the Portsmouth Clippers on Tuesday at home. Goffstown jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when senior Aly Lombardi hit a two run home run to drive in senior Kate Misiorski who led off with a bunt single. In the third inning Lombardi would hit a second two run home run and finished the day (4-4). Also in the third inning, freshman Shannon Gifford hit a three run home run in the eventual run rule contest. Senior pitcher Kaylee Chouinard started the game for Goffstown throwing 5 scoreless innings allowing only one hit and striking out 13. Chouinard ended the day by recording her 60th strikeout of the year. Freshman pitcher Olivia Baldyga closed out the game for Goffstown striking out two more Portsmouth batters in the 12-0 win. Goffstown will be back at home on Wednesday against Milford at 4pm.

2017 Tyout Information

TRYOUT DATES: March 20th, 21st, 22nd Fielding and hitting evaluations will take place in the GHS Main Gym. Anyone interested in trying out as a pitcher or catcher will be evaluated in the back gym on either the 21st or 22nd. March 23rd is tryout selection day. Players must be present to receive their results from the tryout. Any player unable to attend selection day will need to notify the evaluators/coaches prior to March 23rd.
SOFTBALL REGISTRATION: Players must register for softball tryouts through the GHS Athletics website ASAP. Players that do not register will not be eligible to tryout. This includes having a valid physical and meeting all grades eligibility requirements set by the school.
EQUIPMENT: Players are expected to bring a fielding glove, Bat, helmet, good sneakers, plenty of water, a snack and wear proper clothing at tryouts. Players are not allowed to wear ASA, All Star, Babe Ruth or Softball tournament shirts or apparel at tryouts. The only exception will be batting helmets. Players may wear any approved batting helmet at tryouts. Players are allowed to wear GHS Sports shirts/gear if they would like.
NOTE: Should field conditions permit, then tryouts will be held outside at the softball complex. Players will be informed prior to tryouts so that they can bring the necessary equipment and clothing should we be outside.

Softball Tryout Informational Meeting

The 2017 Softball preseason player meeting regarding tryouts will be held on Monday, March 13th at 3pm in the Step Room at GHS. It is recommended that any student athletes interested in trying out to play softball attend this brief meeting.

Softball Open Gym

GHS Softball is pleased to announce that the 2017 Open Gyms will be held Sunday mornings from 7am - 8:30am in the GHS Main Gym beginning January 15th. Softball Hits 3 Home Runs

The Lady Grizzlies played at home on Saturday against Oyster River. Goffstown's offense got to work early in the eventual run rule contest. Senior Kate Misiorski hit a two run home run, that was followed by a three run home run by Melissa Mullen later in the 2nd inning. In addition to Misiorski and Mullen, freshman Shannon Gifford also hit a two run home run for Goffstown in the 3rd. Freshman pitcher Olivia Baldyga pitched the game for the Grizzlies allowing only 3 hits while striking out 8 and walking 2 batters. Goffstown will be back on the road Monday against John Stark.
Grizzlies Win on OHT Day

The Lady Grizzlies hosted an Operation Hat Trick (OHT) game at home today against Sanborn to honor veterans and wounded service men/women. Freshman Pitcher Shannon Gifford had the mound for Goffstown throwing a 1 hitter that included 12 strikeouts and only allowing 3 walks through 7 innings. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning when senior Kate Misiorski led off with a bunt single. She was followed by senior Aly Lombardi who hit a triple to right center to score Misiorski. Lombardi would also go on to score as well after a offline throw home in an attempt to get Misiorski. In the 5th inning Goffstown added one more insurance run by moving senior Amber Davis from first to third base on a bunt play. Davis was then sac bunted home by senior Kaylee Chouinard. The lady Grizzlies held onto the lead in the 7th beating Sanborn 3-0. Goffstown will be back at home on Saturday against Oyster River at 4pm.
Softball Grizzlies Improve to 7-1

Grizzlies Softball won on the road Monday 20-3 in Lebanon. Goffstown's offense was solid on the day earning 13 singles, 3 doubles (Misiorski, Lombardi & Gagnon) and 2 triples (Lombardi & Gifford) in the 5 inning run rule contest. Freshman pitcher Olivia Baldyga earned the win throwing a 2 hitter which included 9 strikeouts and 6 walks. Goffstown will be back on the road Wednesday to face (7-1) Pelham at 4:00pm.
Softball Grizzlies Win 17-2

Softball Grizzlies were on the road today against Trinity in its second of four games this week. Freshman pitcher Olivia Baldyga got the start for Goffstown. Baldyga only allowed 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Goffstown would go on to win the game by run rule 17-2. The Grizzlies offense was lead by Junior Kara Lendry who hit the cycle, including a home run. Goffstown will be back at home for game three of the week on Wednesday at 4:00pm against Coe Brown.
Softball No Hits St. Thomas

The softball Grizzlies opened up the week on the road at St. Thomas. Freshman pitcher Shannon Gifford threw the first four innings for Goffstown striking out 8 and walking 5. In the 5th inning senior pitcher Kaylee Chouinard closed out the game striking out 7 with no walks, completing the 7 inning combined no hit game on the road. Goffstown's offense was effective in manufacturing runs and produced singles from seniors Kate Misiorski, Aly Lombardi and Chouinard. As well as singles from Gifford and sophomore Justine Watterson. The Grizzlies will be back on the road on Tuesday at Trinity.
Softball Grizzlies Shut Out Plymouth

The Lady Grizzlies played at home on Monday against Plymouth High School. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 6th when Goffstown's offense came alive. Senior Amber Davis got things going after getting on base from an error by Plymouth's defense. Davis was followed by a single from Freshman Shannon Gifford. By the end of the inning Davis, Gifford and Seniors Kaylee Chouinard and Kate Misiorski would all go onto score as well as Junior Kara Lendry who hit a 2 RBI triple in the inning. The Grizzlies ultimately went on to win 5-0 with a complete game shut out by Chouinard who had 9 strikeouts, allowing only 4 hits and two walks. Goffstown returns back to action on Wednesday at home against Oyster River at 4pm.

The Lady Grizzlies were on the road Wednesday against Pembroke Academy. Goffstown's bats went quickly back to work and were productive only recording one strikeout in the game. Although the Lady Grizzlies produced nine hits including a double by Sophomore Justine Watterson, they were only able to plate 3 runs on the day. The real story of the game was Senior Pitcher Kaylee Chouinard who was outstanding from the mound throwing a complete game that included 7 strikeouts, 5 walks and only allowing 5 hits. The Grizzlies defense was able to stand up against a late rally from Pembroke Academy in the 6th & 7th inning in the eventual 3-1 win. The Softball Grizzlies hosted the home opener on Monday against the Bow Falcons. The story of the game was Goffstown's offense which included 9 doubles from seven different batters in the eventual 15-3 run rule contest. Freshmen pitchers Shannon Gifford and Olivia Baldyga combined for 10 strikeouts through 6 innings of work. The Lady Grizzlies will go back on the road Wednesday against Pembroke Academy at 4:00pm.
