In the event of any game cancellation, we will still meet as a team for practice which may combine outdoor activities AND indoor conditioning activities combined with a chalk-talk session and/or film review. There will never be a posting exclusively to the Grizzlies Lacrosse Club Facebook regarding practice or game plans, so if you don't see it here on the News tab of the Girls Lacrosse Team page of the Goffstown Athletics Website, from the Girls Lacrosse Coaches it likely does not pertain to the Girls Lacrosse Program.

It may be snowing outside but the WALL is calling! We are in the process of determining what space we have available inside today for the Wall Ball Challenge (3:30pm-4:00pm) and for practice (beginning at 4pm) . There are restrictions on space due to the Vaccination Clinic which is ongoing at GHS into the evening. IDEALLY we would like to have a space for wall ball (30min) and then practice (45min-1hr),finishing with 30min of classroom/education time. If we don't have a space which can accommodate wall ball we always have the upper level hallways and stairwells for activity, before gathering in a classroom for some education to increase our Lax IQ . Therefore please MEET AT 3:30pm outside the Step Room, prepared for any combination of the inside activities described above. We will conclude at 5:30pm

Coaching Philosophy: To guide the development of athletes in their technique, tactics, mental approach and satisfaction in the learning of new lacrosse skills or enhancing existing ones. We teach athletes the basics/fundamentals in particular skills and then create a greater awareness in the athlete as to how to apply those skills in competitive situations and advance them. Since a Coach can only have limited influence on the athletes and on the game from the sidelines, it is important that athletes can assess, evaluate and correct themselves in competitive situations to produce the best possible performance of which they are capable, both individually and as part of a team-unit.
General Team information can be found here on the Girls Lacrosse section of the GHS Athletics website. The weekly practice schedule, season updates, news and team announcements will be posted in the “News” section of the site, which can be accessed at:

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Chantal: chantal@nhmi.net
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS DURING THE LACROSSE SEASON:
-Attendance at ALL practices and games unless there is an excused absence. Practices have preliminarily been set for Monday-Friday either 3:30-5:00 or 4:00-5:30 depending on weekly factors; Saturdays (prior to a Monday game-day0 8:30am-10am; Sundays: OFF
-Accountability ON and OFF the field; Positive motivation and support for your teammates; Hard work and effort (not just on game days!); Commitment to increasing your lacrosse IQ and having a working knowledge of the rules; Sportsmanship (even in the face of adversity); Leadership from all returning players, especially upperclassmen.
- Face masks/coverings are required to be worn by players at all tryouts, practices and games. This includes while players are on the sidelines or on the playing field.
SICKNESS AND INJURY:
It is imperative that all sicknesses and injury be reported to the player’s team coach as soon as possible; similarly, when a player suffers an injury (non-emergency) during a practice or competition, the Coaches will communicate the injury to the parents, as soon as reasonably possible, if the parent was not present when the injury occurred. Thereafter, the first resource (other than in an emergency situation) that the coaches will utilize in ascertaining a player’s participation restrictions is the GHS Athletic Trainer, unless the player has obtained medical advice from treating physician. Return to play guidelines shall be strictly enforced.
TEAM LOCKER ROOM:
We have been assigned a Team Locker Room for the season. Although we try our best to have our locker room locked when it is not in use (for the security of our equipment and personal belongings (clothing, money, jewelry etc..), there are occasions when it is left unlocked. For that reason we encourage every player to have an individual lock for their locker. Please note, the team locker room is for use by members of THIS team, please respect your teammates by limiting its use to lacrosse related activities. It should not be used as a social gathering spot for your friends who are not members of this team.
PREPAREDNESS:
We will encounter every kind of weather possible during the season, and players must have available the appropriate clothing (layers) and footwear for any given day as we may need to spend some portion of our practice time indoors. Please make sure to have cleats AND sneakers every day. It is suggested that players always have additional clothing/change of clothing available in their locker. In addition, please be reminded that Lacrosse is a RUNNING sport. We incorporate running into every practice (and many days we conduct a longer distance run of approximately 30 minutes). Please make sure players have the appropriate footwear to support the amount of running that will be taking place so as to help them avoid unnecessary injuries.
JEWELRY:
NO Jewelry will be allowed to be worn during any practice or game (including cartilage and helix piercings). This is entirely a safety issue that is well within the control of each player. It is expected that players exercise the self-discipline necessary to follow this rule and take it seriously. It is the individual players responsibility to remove ALL jewelry BEFORE the start of all practices or games (removing jewelry during warm-ups and/or before “stick check” at game time is not an acceptable practice).
GOFFSTOWN GRIZZLIES LACROSSE CLUB (BOOSTER CLUB):
There is a MANDATORY online player registration process with the Grizzlies Lacrosse Club to play on the High School (and Middle School) teams. The Spring 2021 Registration Fee is $50.00 per player. The Grizzlies Lacrosse Club is the primary resource for information regarding fundraising opportunities, apparel/spirit-wear merchandise and year end team celebrations. Annually, the Booster Club supports the high school and middle school lacrosse programs in Goffstown in various ways (including but not limited to: providing some form of apparel contribution to each team (ie shooting shirts, warm up shirts, etc), providing Senior Night festivities (including plaques, photo banners, flowers, etc..) for the senior athletes, hosting the GHS End of Season Banquet, MVMS end of season festivities, awarding the Grizzlies/Shearin Scholarship to one male and one female graduating player, securing indoor turf time for high school tryouts, and other support of player development.
