Hello All,

Our end of the season tournament is finally here and your Goffstown Grizzlies have secured the #1 seed for the tournament. We will be playing in the Division I State JV Tournament which is being hosted by Londonderry High School this year. Goffstown and Windham are the only Division II teams in the field along with 13 Division I teams. Seeding is based off of the regular season record for which our undefeated record has allowed us the top seed in the tournament. Goffstown, Windham, Alvirne, Pinkerton, Bedford, Londonderry, Bishop Guertin, Salem, Memorial, Nashua South, Keene, Nashua North, Concord, Merrimack, Trinity will be the teams participating and are listed by seeding from top to bottom.

For the tournament I will do my best to get all of the players in throughout the entirety of the tournament but at this stage of the game, the higher performing players based on the regular season performance will start each game. We will be playing much better competition in this tournament compared to what we have seen this season and we want to perform well in this tournament while finding time for each player to get involved. Players who do not start will get time in the games but not in the same amount that we saw in the regular season. I have spoken to the team about this on multiple occasions so far and am more than happy to answer any questions they may have before the tournament comes this weekend.

We will not have a bus for transportation tot he tournament this weekend so we ask the kids to carpool with those who can drive and ask parents to assist with providing rides for the kids. We will meet at Goffstown High School at 7:00 am on Saturday, May 28th and leave by 7:15 am, every one is expected to be at the field by 7:45 am so we can prepare for our 9:00 am game. We hope to see all of the parents at the games to support us through this tough but exciting tournament but as always ask parents to allow the kids to play and the coach to coach without interruption.

We look forward to this opportunity and continuing our regular season success into the DI Tournament. All Players are expected to be there but we understand this is a popular weekend for vacation, players are expected to communicate with Coach Moody if they cannot be there on certain days or times. Dresden Athletic Fields at 4:30 pm, Student Athletes will be dismissed at 2:00 pm and the bus will leave at 2:15 pm to head to the field. Fields are located in Norwich, VT at 221 Route 5 South. Norwich, VT 05055. Subway subs will be provided for those who ordered them on the ride home.

Keyes Park at 4:00 pm, Student Athletes will be dismissed at 2:15 and the bus will leave at 2:30 pm to head to the field. Field is located at Keyes Park which is found at 45 Elm St. Milford, NH 03055. Subway subs will be provided for those who ordered them on the ride home.

Friday - Practice from 3:30 to 5:00 pm (outside, behind school).
After practice we will be having our JV end of the regular season dinner at the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester, NH at 6:00 pm for the players and coach. The kids do not need to bring anything with them as the dinner is taken care of by the baseball program. Kids are asked to arrive at the restaurant by 6 pm, parents can plan to pick up the kids around 7:30 pm.

Memorial Day Weekend - JV end of the year tournament hosted by Londonderry High School. Details TBA.

JV Baseball will have team pictures on Thursday, May 5th of this week at 3:00 pm behind the school at the JV field. All uniforms should be washed and ready to go for these pictures. Players are asked to be in full uniform for these pictures, including belts, hats, pants, maroon undershirts, jerseys, hats, socks and cleats. Picture forms were sent home with kids after last Friday's game, more will be given out at todays game or at practice Tuesday if needed. Not everyone is required to purchase pictures but every player is asked to be in attendance.

Hollis Brookline at 4:00 pm, Student Athletes will be dismissed form school at 2:00 pm and the bus will leave at 2:15 pm. Road game sandwiches will be provided on the bus ride home for those who have purchased them. An alert will be sent out if the game is canceled due to rain. We will not practice if game is canceled.

Hello All,

Todays game on Wednesday, April 13th at 4:00 pm against West High School at Piscataquog Park has been canceled due to field conditions at Piscataquog Park. We will practice from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm today behind the school and then the kids are free to go home or go down to Lions field where the Varsity team has their home opener against Portsmouth High School. Sorry for the inconvenience, West High School just made the call regarding the game being canceled.

Practice on Thursday will still be outside form 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and Fridays game is still on at Pembroke Academy at 4:00 pm, bus leaves at 2:30 pm.

Hello All,

During the season (once we can actually get outside on a consistent basis) we will be having practice form 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm on non game days during the week. These practices will take place at the field behind the school. Players are expected to arrive by and be ready to go for when practice starts at 4:30 pm. I always try and get them out of there by 6:00 pm but sometimes it does run a few minutes over depending on what we are working on that day. In situation where it rains we will practice inside in the gym depending on the gym schedule and it will often be during the 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm time slot. Our game schedule is up on the website and is updated as of 4/6/2016.

Hello All,

I sent the kids home with information yesterday regarding the Subway Restaurants dinner program that we are trying to participate in this season. Subway has created a deal that provides the kids with a sub of their choice, a drink, a bag of chips and cookie for after our away games this season. This is meant to provide the kids with a meal after our away games and it saves us from having to stop at a Burger King, McDonalds or some other fast food location and extending the time in which we get back to school after the game. This will be provided for all 9 away games this season and will cost $66.24 per person if they choose to participate. Cash or Check will be accepted with checks being made out to Subway.

I ask that the payments, form with your child's meal selection be placed inside an envelope with their name and JV Baseball on the front of it. I have asked that these be turned in by Friday, April 8th if possible since our first away game is Wednesday of next week. These will be accepted up until Monday, April 11th. If you have any questions or concerns please direct them to myself or Coach Lawrence. The other catch with this is that the sandwiches will need to be picked up by a parent for each away game at the Subway located on Mast Road in the Goffstown Plaza. If one parent can do that each away game that would be terrific or if parents could work out scheduling this for each away game and bringing the sandwiches to the game, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All,

we will behaving our Field Cleanup Day this Sunday, April 10th at Lions Field in Goffstown starting at 10:00 am. We ask that all players both JV and Varsity who can make it here during this time please show up to assist in the preparation of our home field for next weeks games. We ask that the kids bring a shovel, rake, broom, wheelbarrow, tamper (larger equipment is great if anyone has it) or anything else they may be able to use to assist in this process. Please put your names on the equipment to ensure the kids don't grab the wrong one when they go home. Dads are welcome to help if they want but that is not required by any means. Feel free to have the kids ask myself or Coach Lawrence anything they may need to know and we appreciate the help! Food and drinks will be provided!

Hello All,

Each JV and Varsity baseball received 25 coupon books a couple of weeks ago and were tasked with selling their 25 cards. The deadline for our coupon booklet fundraiser is this Friday, April 8th. We will be having our Blitz day where all of JV and Varsity baseball will go out around the school in an effort to sell remaining cards. The more cards that each player can sell before Friday, the less they will need to do on Friday at Blitz Day! The percentage that we get back from these sales goes right into the GHS Baseball account and will be used for team equipment, gear, updates to Lions Field, Team parties etc. Keep working to sell as many as you can everyone.
