First period, Max Lajeunesse made the first shot on goal at 11:48.  At 10:44, Colin Holt stepped out of the net to stop a breakaway.  Ian Gately made a back hand pass to Connor Easton and made a shot at the net at 10:29.  At 8:36, Chace Dearborn shot from the blue line and was almost tipped in to the Merrimack’s net.  Lajeunesse almost scored on a breakaway at 7:04.  The first penalty of the game was received by Nick Nault at 6:47 for cross-checking.  Holt made a few great saves during the penalty kill at 5:32 and 5:03. Another save made from Holt with three Merrimack players heading towards him with the puck.  At 2:00 minutes left in the period, Merrimack’s Aiden O’Brien scored and Tyler Brewster with the assist.  Merrimack’s Jeff Gerhard received a roughing penalty at 17.6 seconds left of the period.  Oliver Gunski tried to score at the last few seconds of the period at 13.6.  Holt had 12 shots on net in the first period.

Second period, the first penalty of the period was made by Merrimack’s Jason Fortin for interference at 14:23.  Nault made a shot at net at 14:10 but was recovered from a rebound.  Holt made some great catches at 10:02 and 8:38.  Holt made another great save at 8:07 while both teams gathered at the net.  Merrimack’s Shane Foye scored at 5:55 unassisted.  But Grizzlies responded by Lajeunesse scored at 4:34 with Easton and Gately with the assists.  Holt had a total 20 shots in the end of second period.

Third period, Gately made the first shot at net at 14:33.  Easton had a shot at 7:07.  Nault received his second cross-checking penalty at 2:39.  During the penalty kill, Holt made 4 saves.  As soon as Nault left the penalty box, Holt was pulled out at .39 seconds left of the game.  Holt had a total of 27 shots in the game.

Coach Roy’s comment of the game:  “Max Lajeunesse’s first goal of the season was nice to see.  Colin Holt gave us a great chance to win.  He played very well tonight.”
