Grizzlies softball opened up the post season at home today against Sanborn. Sophomore Shannon Gifford was in the circle for the Grizzlies, pitching 7 strong innings, striking out 12 while only allowing 2 hits and 2 walks. Sanborn would go on to score the first run of the game in the 6th after a sacrifice fly to deep right field. Sanborn continued to hold the Grizzlies offense scoreless with only 2 hits until the bottom of the 7th inning when Junior Teghan Coyle hit a walk-off 3 run home run with 1 out to win the game. The softball Grizzlies advance to the quarterfinal round on Saturday against John Stark.
