Seeding totals:

3.    Goffstown                1514

Goffstown faced two tough schools Saturday.  Although Merrimack dominated, Goffstown would put up an 834 second game total to come within a spare of (much improved) Bishop Guertin, who only out-seeded Goffstown by 14 pins total.  The effort was lead by freshman rookie, Ryan Gentes, who nearly broke a school record with a 231, in only his second competition.  The 231 was his highest score so far this season, and the highest game bowled in Merrimack on saturday.  Overall, Goffstown showed a marked improvement despite losing both their senior captains, Zach Meisel and Ryan Desruisseaux, to ACT testing, with step up performances by (rookie) Maxx Chambers, Jordan Lewis, Cameron Waller and Xavier Morel.  Below are the scores for the individual varsity games:

Ryan Gentes               149    231
Xavier Morel              172    146
Maxx Chambers        123    171
Cameron Waller       119    134
Jordan Lewis             117    152

Peter Bedard             111    151
Alyia Sharby              115    105
Christian Filteau      119    100

In Baker,  Goffstown faced (#2)Bishop Guertin and came out strong with a quick win in the first game, 140-132… but would lose the next two, 124-136 and 119-184, overwhelmed by a strong Bishop Guertin team.
(top seed) Merrimack would go on to defeat Bishop Guertin in three games to take the first place points, with Bishop Guertin finishing in second place and Goffstown, third.

The surprise of the day came from Goffstown’s JV who saw seven rookie players bowling in their first ever competition!  Chris Martin who bowled a 136 in his first game (the highest by our JV players), would continue to be instrumental in the baker rounds as well.  His consistent play and attitude would be recognized with “the Grizzlie”, handed out to him by last season’s final recipient, Eric Surak (JV captain of the day).
In Baker,  Goffstown’s JV would drop to Bishop Guertin’s JV after forcing a third game, following a second game victory with Goffstown’s highest Baker game overall, 160!

Goffstown will host their first home match of the season, 12/20 at Sparetime
