LONDONDERRY HIGH SCHOOL: 5
The Grizzlies topped #15 seeded Trinity High School 8 to 5 in 7 innings in the second game of their opening round in the Division 1 State Tournament. The Grizzlies were led by Jeremy Barss who tossed a complete game to earn the win while allowing 4 earned runs, while striking out 7, walking 4 and scattering 7 hits in the game for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies had a tough time getting the bats going in this game and trailed Trinity 1 to 0 after 3 innings. Trinity erupted for 4 runs in the 4th inning due to timely hitting and some Grizzlie errors but Goffstown would use that as motivation and scored 2 of their own in the 4th inning to bring the score to 5 to 2 Triniy after 4 innings. The 5th was quiet for both teams but the 6th inning was a different story for the Grizzlies who sent 8 men to the plate in the inning, scoring 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. Jeremy Barss and Justin Pinard started off the inning with singles and Ryan Cook walked to load the bases. Sam Desrosiers took a walk to bring in Barss and bring the score to 5 to 3 Trinity. Sebastian Beal was then called in off of the bench to pinch hit and delivered a line drive single to left center to score both Pinard and Cook to tie the game at 5 to 5. Back to back doubles by Tyler Santoro and Nick LaBrie scored Desrosiers, Beal and Santoro to make the game 8 to 5 Goffstown after 6. Barss pitched the 7th to close out the win for the Grizzlies advancing them out of their bracket with a record of 2-0 and onto the semi finals.
