WINNACUNNET HIGH SCHOOL: 11
The Grizzlies faced Winnacunnet at home on Thursday and came up winners. Down 1-4 nearly halfway through the 1st half, offense buckled down and went to work on a 4 goal run to take the lead at halftime 5-4. During the Second half both teams traded goals and were knotted time and again. Grizzlies went up for good on a well executed behind the back goal by Katryn Maley to make it 12-11. They put the final nail in the coffin with under a minute left on a goal by deMatteis to win it 13-11. Defense was able to adjust their play throughout the game to cause Winnacunnet to turn over the ball and provide scoring opportunities for the offense. Strong performances in goal by Maddie Sage in the first half and Cami Leathers in the second half gave the Grizzlies the edge to come out on top. Goal tallies were: Lacerte, Ashford, Gorospe, deMatteis (2), Maley (4), Pierce (4)
