Woodward Throws Shutout As Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity Defeats Pembroke Academy
Matt Woodward didn't allow a single run as Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity defeated Pembroke Academy 4-0 on Wednesday. Woodward allowed just two hits and induced a fly out from Louke to end the game.
Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity didn't take the lead until later in the game. Ethan Smith singled on a 1-0 count in the fifth inning, scoring one run.
A single by Paquin in the second inning was a positive for Pembroke Academy.
Matt Woodward earned the win for Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity. He pitched seven innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out ten, and walking two. Hapgood took the loss for Pembroke Academy. He went four and a third innings, surrendering three runs, four hits, and striking out six.
Connor Hujsak, Nick Mattison, and Smith each drove in one run to lead Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity. Cody Morel led Goffstown Grizzlies Varsity with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
Paquin went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Pembroke Academy in hits. Pembroke Academy didn't commit a single error in the field. Bonefant had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
