On a perfect sunny fall day at Grizzlies field the girls varsity soccer team defeated Souhegan by a score of 2-0, advancing them to a quarterfinal round show down against the 2nd seeded John Stark Generals in Weare this Sunday, November 2, at 2 PM. Senior Nikki Paquette started the scoring for the Grizzlies on a free kick assist by Senior Georgia Caine midway through the first half. Through constant pressure the majority of the second half by the Sabers, the score would remain 1-0 until Senior Parker McBride connected with Sophomore Alyssa Bouqure on a perfect through ball to put the Grizzlies up by the final score of 2-0! Goffstown's defense lead the way with stout goaltending by senior Leandra Nault, who recorded her sixth shutout of the year.
